Work or Too Much Fun?
Some of you may know after college I started my social media career with Dufresne Spencer Group, also name as the Corporate office for Ashley HomeStores and Stash Home stores. As the social media specialist, I have been granted many opportunities to attend events in the community. I always have a great time attending these events, and it makes me love my job even more! Keep reading down below to hear all about a few of these fun events and each outfit that I decided to rock!
Recently, Stash Home in Kirkwood, MO hosted a party with Veranda Magazine to celebrate the grand opening of the Bernhardt Interiors Boutique inside the store. There were many representatives there from each brand, and it was very nice to get to meet the faces behind the brand. I attended the event for social media coverage, but I also attended to welcome the multiple influencers that I invited out to join us for the event.
The best part about the event in my opinion was the networking opportunities that this event created. I met so many big named people from Veranda Magazine and Bernhardt Interiors. I also met many bloggers from the Kirkwood, Mo area. It's such a good feeling to expand your network in other big cities.
When I was thinking about what I wanted to wear to this event, I knew that I wanted to stand out and look like a boss lady! Stash Home's brand colors are black & white, so I had to wear black. As a girl who loves black, I decided to go with an all black outfit, but I wanted to add a little something something. I got this caramel duster vest from Memphis Fashion Design Network's Shop Her Closet event, but it is originally from BluesCItyVintage. I went with a closed-toe heel since I was going for the business look.
I was in Kirkwood, MO from Wednesday to Friday. As soon as I got back in Memphis Friday, I had to rush home to get ready for Mike Conley's Bowl N' Bash Reception event hosted at Roadshow BWM. Mike Conley hosts a Bowl N' Bash every year to honor those who have sickle cell anemia. The reception was the day before the official Bowl N' Bash, and it's just an event where you can come to mingle and have fun with friends.
Since the reception was an evening event, I decided to dress up a little. I wore this dress from White House | Black Market and shoes from Jessica Simpson. I love this dress! The scallop detail at the bottom is my favorite! However, I hate how fast this dress wrinkles. It is very annoying haha. But the dress is so beautiful, it's totally worth looking past the wrinkles!
Saturday came, which is the day of Mike Conley's official Bowl N' Bash, and I had a shoot that morning with a new photographer that I have recently started working with named Mia. We shot for her friend that is a stylist. All I can say is that both of these girls are great at their work! I loved how the pictures and the outfit turned out.
The stylist provided the hat, t-shirt, and vest for this shoot, while the white boots, leather skirt, sunnies, and leather purse are from my own collection. However, this entire concept was the stylist's idea. I was so in love with this outfit!!! It has definitely motivated me to start incorporating more edgy looks into my style more often.
Right after my shoot with Mia, I had to rush to the bowling alley for the Bowl N' Bash. Ashley HomeStore was the all-star sponsor for this event, so I was able to attend through my job. I was there for social media coverage, and I got to see most of the Memphis Grizzlies players along with my good friend Mary Conely, which is Mike Conley's wife. The event was so much fun! Ashley HomeStore had a few reps there, so we all teamed up for bowling. We played a total of four games. I thought I hated bowling, but I left the event lovin' it!
I knew I wanted to dress down for the Bowl N' Bash, so I just wore some boyfriend jeans along with a black button up and cute slip-on sandals from Target. This outfit was all about being comfortable.
