MFW: A Week to Remember

Welp folks, cheers to another Memphis Fashion Week in the books! This year was the first year that I didn't have to do any work for the shows, and it felt so good to just sit back and enjoy myself. And indeed I was so happy to just enjoy the shows because this year's runway shows were the best yet! Keep reading down below to see how I pulled my looks together and to see my favorite looks that made it down the runway.

The first night of Memphis Fashion Week was 'Fashion Night Out'. This event was the kickoff event for the runways shows the following nights. Shopping local vendors, sipping, and mingling with familiar and new faces is what this night consisted mostly of. The Fashion Night Out event was hosted at Crosstown Concourse this year, and I got to hang out with a few of my blogger friends. After this event, we ended the night at Hu Hotel Rooftop where the after party began.

Each and every look that I decided to go with this year might be my favorite looks yet compared to all of my previous looks for fashion week. The outfit above for Fashion Night Out was inspired by a street style look I saw on Pinterest. The girl in the picture had on a black blazer with a brown belt, green tuxedo pants, and white heels. I knew I already had these green pants and black blazer shown in the picture above in my own personal collection. The only thing I did not have was a brown belt, so I decided to order a Gucci belt. I mean what better excuse do you have to buy a Gucci belt than Fashion Week?! And instead of pairing this outfit with a pair of white heels, I just decided to keep it simple with a pair of single sole ankle strap black heels.

Now let's jump to beauty! For hair, I knew I was going to be wearing my Bellami hair extensions to give myself those inches!! I decided to wear my hair half-up, half-down so my gold earrings would pop a little more to offset the gold in my Gucci belt. For makeup, I went for a black smokey eye and a burnt red lip to contrast with the green pants.

Let the runway shows begin!

The second night of Memphis Fashion Week is when the runway shows actually began. This night the runway show consisted of looks designed by the Featured Designers or designers that have already established their brand. Usually this is my favorite night because the pieces are so well put together and wonderfully made. A few of the designers included Tiena Gwin, Demi Blvck, This is Sloan, and JodiBrewer Couture. Each one of these designers did a marvelous job, and I was astonished when each piece made it down the runway. Some of them were just breathtaking! See below for a few of my favorite looks from the show.

For this night, I based my entire outfit off of this Gianni Bini plaid jumpsuit that I found on sale. I loved this jumpsuit, and I knew it would make a statement. I found a pair of Vince Camuto heels that had the same exact print of the jumpsuit, so I had to get them! I already had this turtleneck bell sleeve cropped sweater from my friends boutique so I threw that underneath. I love turtlenecks with a spaghetti strapped jumpsuit. There's just something about it! Once I put all of these pieces together I still felt like the outfit was missing something. And then I thought of a french beret! I knew I needed some type of color in this outfit, so I went with a red beret.

Since I was wearing a french beret, I just wore my hair down and curled. For my makeup, I decided to do a fierce winged liner and a red lip to match the french beret. I loved this outfit and look so much, and it was probably my favorite look for this year's events!

For the last and final night of Memphis Fashion Week, the Emerging Designers showed off their designs on the runway. The emerging designers are up & coming designers that have yet to establish their brand or needs help with exposing their brand to a bigger audience. Usually this show is my least favorite, but this year it was everything and more! I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. See below for a few of my favorite looks from this runway show.

I wasn't really sure what to wear for the last night of Memphis Fashion Week. I came across this fabulous navy blue Jones New York blazer online and the fact that it was double breasted and it had white buttons really persuaded my to buy it. I knew I was going to pair this blazer with a pair of white trousers and white heels that I already had in my collection. But after putting these three pieces together I knew the outfit still needed some pizzazz ya know? So I went looking for a statement handbag, and I found this Anne Klein wicker purse that I thought would go perfectly! And finally I threw on some gold drop earrings from a local vendor that I love called ThePrettyBull.

It was calling for rain all night last night, and I was freaking out about my hair. I originally wanted to wear my hair down, but I knew that wasn't going to work because it was pouring and my hair would frizz up as if electricity hit it. So I decided to wear a high side pony and added a few bubbles for a little more pizzazz. For my makeup, I just wore a fierce winged eyeliner and a natural pink lip. I thought this look would be my most basic look, but I ended up loving it!

I had so much fun at Memphis Fashion Week this year with all of my favorite blogger friends, but next year I am making it a goal to attend Nashville Fashion Week. As much as I love Memphis Fashion Week, Nashville has a lot of cool designers that have made it to the big screen on Bravo's Project Runway. And I would love to see some of these designers' work in person!

Thank you guys for visiting CRMstyles. I hope you enjoyed this read! See below to shop each of my MFW looks.
