I'm Engaged!
The best day of my life happened, and I'm completely at a loss for words! The word excitement is an understatement for the emotions that are going through my head right now! I am beyond excited to be engaged to the love of my life, my first boyfriend, my first love!
For those of you that don't know, I have been with Patrick Cephus for almost 7 years. We started dating back in high school when we were 16. We went to separate schools and lived in separate cities, but we made it work by traveling and seeing each other on the weekend. We only lived 35 minutes from each other, so it wasn't that much of a drive. Once we graduated high school, we decided to go to college together at the University of Memphis. And here we are, graduated from college, and we're still together!
Okay, so that's enough about Patrick and I. Let's talk about how he proposed haha! Patrick asked me to go on a dinner date with him to what was supposed to be to a place called Majestic Grille, which is a really nice restaurant in Memphis, but we ended up going to Carrabba's because I really wanted their lobster ravioli. We went to dinner, and we ate. Nothing. Well we get home, and Patrick mentions that he lost his house key, so he begins to look for it. He was looking for about 10-15 minutes when I finally decided that I would help him look for it. I starting looking under the bed, and as I was looking, I began to ask him questions like "when's the last time you remember having them". Well he wasn't answering any of my questions, and I began to get really frustrated. I turned around to see what he was doing, and he was on one knee and he asked me to marry him!!!!!! I was so happy I just began to cry. Of course, I said yes!!
I will remember this moment for the rest of my life, and one day I will tell my kids about how Daddy proposed! I'm so happy that it was just us during this special moment because it was more sentimental. I love him with all of my heart, and I cannot wait to be Mrs. Cephus!
Also, get ready because the wedding planning has officially begun!
