2020 Favorites

Welcome back to the blog guys! 2020 was a year for the books for sure! From the presidential election, pandemic, city lockdown and rioting, I'm happy to say peace out to 2020! There were a few good things that came out of 2020, and I wanted to be sure that I took the time to share my 2020 favorites from makeup, skincare, clothes and more! Keep reading down below to read all about the items that I could not live without this past year!

Makeup Favorites

Becca Ultimate Coverage 24hr Foundation

If you know me, then you know I am a foundation, concealer & lipstick junkie. These are the 3 makeup items I tend to buy the most besides lashes and mascara lol. I'm going to start with my favorite foundation. My favorite foundation discovery for 2020 is the Becca Ultimate Coverage 24hr foundation. I had a friend refer me to this product, and when I tell y'all this is the best high-end foundation I have ever tried. It's the best! It provides full coverage without the overwhelming feeling of cake face. I use shade "Olive", and this foundation retails for $44.

Morphe Fluidity Concealer

Next up, let's talk concealer. Honestly, the Morphe Fluidity concealer has been my favorite concealer for the past 2 years. I love this concealer because its a thick-like mousse texture which provides me the coverage that I'm looking for. I also love this concealer because its easy to blend out. And you can't beat the $10 price! I use shade C2.25.

Colourpop So Juicy Lip Gloss

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know a glossy finish has been my favorite preference when it comes to lipstick vs. a matte finish. Colourpop's "So Juicy" lipgloss is my favorite! I carry this everywhere with me, and use it as a topper on most of my lipstick applications. Colourpop does have many different shades, but my favorite shade is "She's Here (nude warm)". This gloss does have a tint to it, but is still transparent. Retails for $8!

V. Luxe Lashes

I truly believe that a look is not complete without a good pair of lashes. V. Luxe lashes have been a new brand discovery for me in 2020. I love many pairs of lashes from this brand, but my favorite style are the "Champagne Pink" pair. I do get these lashes from my local beauty supply store, and they retail for $9. You can also buy these lashes online. If you are not a fan of drama or you have sensitive eyes, you may want to steer clear of these babies lol. Also, my favorite lash glue is the Kiss black lash glue.

Juvia's Place Foundation Stick

Cream contouring has not been a part of my makeup routine in a few years. In 2020, I decided to incorporate cream contouring back into my makeup routine. I can truly say it has definitely transformed my makeup game. My contour is so much more on point. I use the Juvia's Place foundation stick in the shade "Benin". This foundation stick is very creamy, full coverage & easy to blend out. If you're looking for a hydrated, dewy look then you definitely need to invest in this foundation stick for cream contouring. It only retails for $16!

NYX Ultimate Utopia Eyeshadow Palette

I don't buy eyeshadow palettes often, but when I do I make sure they have neutral & bright tones, matte shades & shimmer shades. When I came across this NYX Ultimate Utopia palette, I HAD TO HAVE IT! I mean look at this palette. This palette has almost every shade I would need. I use this palette on myself as well as bridal clients. The shimmer shades in this palette are like no other. They are very creamy & pigmented. If you have not tried this palette, then you need to get your hands on it. It retails for $35.

SkinCare Favorites

Buff City Soap

If you are not familiar with Buff City Soap, then check out their website here: https://www.buffcitysoap.com

I love this place so much! Buff City Soap makes each of their products organically in-house. It's one of those products where you can read & interpret every ingredient on the label. I love products like this because you can truly tell that it is organic. My favorites scents are Narcissist, Dirty South & Black Raspberry Vanilla. A few of my favorite products include:

Bath Soap

Shower Oil

Activated Charcoal Cleansing Bar

Facial Toner

Rejuvenating Facial Serum

Facial Moisturizer

Tula So Polished Exfoliating Sugar Scrub

I do give myself Brazilian waxes at home. When waxing or shaving, you always want to make sure you are exfoliating your skin to be sure all dead skin & pores are cleared. I only exfoliate on days that I am not giving myself a Brazilian wax. On the day that I wax, I do not exfoliate only because it will cause my pores to open up more which could cause bleeding & enlarged pores when waxing. The Tula Exfoliator is my favorite. It smells divine, has a smooth application & the beads are not too rough. This exfoliator redials for $32.

GlamGlow Supermud Charcoal Instant Treatment Mask

The GlamGlow charcoal mask is my favorite face mask of all time! I love anything with charcoal because it really helps to unclog my pores. Once I apply this mask, any breakouts that I have clear up within 24 hours. It is true when it says "instant treatment". I usually mask once per week, and one jar will last me 3-6 months. The Glamglow mask retails for $60, but the sample size redials for $30.

Random Favorites

Electric Makeup Brush Cleaner

The thing I dislike most about makeup and being a makeup artist is washing my brushes. Now don't get me wrong I still wash my brushes consistently for sanitary purposes and to keep my skin clear. However, recently I had this electric makeup brush cleaner (https://www.amazon.com/VisaGisto-Electric-Cleaner-Centrifugal-Spinner/dp/B07C1PBJTF) sent to me. This brush cleaner has changed my life. It's so easy to use, rechargeable, gets my brushes super clean, and cuts down cleaning time by more than half. If you do not have something like this in your life then you definitely need it! It retails for $25.

Wax Hair Removal Kit

With the pandemic in full effect still, I needed to find a way to get my monthly waxes. I ordered this wax kit for at-home purposes and Love it! It was only $20 on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Waxing-Removal-Warmer-Applicator-Sticks/dp/B07814S6VV) I will say that I do not like the wax beads that come with it. They do not melt down for a smooth application. I use Pretty Girls Get Waxed wax beads (https://prettygirlsgetwaxed.com/collections/hard-wax-beads/products/pretty-in-pink-wax) when I'm waxing. I love this wax, and it retails for $40. A bag of this wax usually lasts me 6 months.

Mahogany Coconut Bath & Body Works Candle

Since the pandemic, I've deleveoped an addiction for B&BW candles! My ultimate favorite candle is the Mahogany Conocut. This candle has a very masculine sweet & smell, and I love it. A few of my other favorites include: Mahogany Apple, Black Cherry Merlot, & Peppermint Marshmallow. All B&BW 3-wick candles retails for $25.

Orly Won't Chip Topcoat

I do get my nails done faithfully every 2-4 weeks. However, I do not get my toes done. I do my toes myself at home. I have found that the Orly top coat is the best top coat I have come across. It retails for $10, but it's totally worth price! This top coat leaves a shiny finish & never allows my nails to chip. You need this if you're doing your nails at home!

Apparel Brands

There are many pieces of apparel in my wardrobe that I love & cherish. You'd be here all day reading about all of my favorites pieces. However, I don't want to keep you long so I'm going to mention a few brands that I have shopped from the most in 2020.

1. SHEIN

2. PrettyLittleThing

3. Nike

4. JW Pei

5. Public Desire

6. Forever21

7. H&M

Thank you for visiting CRMstyles! I hope you are able to try out one of my 2020 favorites listed above. If you get a chance to, let me know how you liked by leaving me a comment down below!

Until Next Time!
