Top 2018 Beauty Favorites

I feel like it has been forever since I have been able to blog for you guys. Well I am back like I never left, and I am so excited about today's post! The New Year is almost here, and I just wanted to hop on here and share with you guys my top beauty favorites in 2018. I will be sharing my favorite makeup and skincare products as well as my favorite places to shop. Keep reading down below to find out which products made it to my list. :)

First things first, let's start off with my top favorite makeup products. I will list them in the order that I apply them to my face. First, let's talk primers.

Primers

1. Dr. Brandt No More Pores Primer

When I say this is the best primer for large pores, this IS THE BEST primer for larger pores. A lot of people use the benefit pore professional primer, but that primer does not really work for me. I do have larger pores, so I need something that lays a thicker layer over my pores for a smoother finish. This primer has done everything that I've needed it to - smooth our pores, smooth wrinkles, and smooth breakouts. Get your hands on this primer. The sample size is only $15, and it's lasted me a year!

2. Becca Mattifying Primer

If you are an oily girl, this primer is definitely for you. I have tried a few mattifying primers in my life, and this is the best one that I have come across yet. The sample size is only $15!

3. NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator

If you are more on the dry side, I always use a liquid illuminator to make the skin appear hydrated and very dewy. I apply this right after moisturizer and before the foundation. The NYX born to glow liquid illuminator is my fav because it has the right amount of glow, and its only $6 at the drugstore. You definitely can't beat that!

Brows

1. Colourpop Precision Brow Pencil

Colourpop really has great products for really really cheap prices. If you have not checked this brand out before, please do. I promise you will not regret it. This brow pencil is very pigmented and so easy to work with, and I love how it includes a spoolie. It's only $6, but it's on sale right NOW for 50% OFF. Get it while you can!

2. Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

Benefit has really stepped their game up with their brow pencils. The goof proof brow pencil has definitely become a crowd favorite. It is very pigmented; it only takes a slight swipe, and it shows up very well. This product not only includes a spoolie to comb your brows, but the pencil includes a slanted shape for an easier application. This pencil is $24.

Eye Shadow

1. Morphe Jaclyn Hill Palette

This year was definitely the year for Morphe. A lot of people are not familiar with the brand, but they recently just started selling a few of their makeup products at ULTA. Morphe is really known for their eyeshadow palettes. Their eye shadow palettes are the BOMB.com!!! I always tell people to stop buying the urban decay naked palettes and go get their hands on a morphe palette. It's the same quality, same pigmentation, less fall out, and at a better price. The Jaclyn Hill palette is my favorite Morphe palette of all time because it has just about every color you need.

Foundation

1. Colourpop No Filter Complexion Foundation

I love this foundation because it is perfect for everyday wear. It is medium coverage, but is very buildable. It leaves a smooth natural finish, and it does not feel cakey at all once it is set. Did I mention it was only $12, but is on sale NOW for $8.40. You can't beat that! Also, Colourpop offers a lot of different shades for this foundation.

2. Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation

This foundation is more on the higher end. It is a little bit more pricey than the colourpop foundation. It is sold for $40. The urban decay foundation is a full coverage foundation, that leaves a natural finish. It also leaves a smooth finish once set. I will say be careful with setting this foundation too much because it can get cakey since it is a full coverage foundation.

Concealers

1. Colourpop No Filter Concealer

This concealer is so good. It is comparable to the Tarte shape, which is a crowd favorite. The only difference I would say between the two is that the Tarte shape tape is a little bit more full coverage and it dries a lot faster than the colourpop concealer. The colourpop concealer is so creamy and so easy to blend. It is medium coverage, but it is definitely buildable. I use this concealer for everyday wear. It's only $6, but is on sale for $4.20 right NOW!

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

This concealer has been a favorite of mine for the last 2 years. Need I say more??? haha

3. Clinique Apricot Corrector Concealer

If you are a woman of color, most of the time we do tend to have discoloration on our face. Red and peach concealers help to cancel out this darkness. Recently, Patrick Starr convinced me to buy this corrector from Clinique, and I am in love!!!! I love this corrector because it's creamy like a foundation and it blends seamlessly. It is a medium to full coverage concealer. This concealer is a littler pricey. I think it is $26.

Powders

1. Airspun Transluscent Powder

The Laura Mercier setting powder has been a crowd favorite for a while. However, there is a cheaper option out there that is a dupe for the Laura Mercier powder. This powder is the Airspun transluscent powder. This powder is so good! It's only $6, and it's sold exclusively at Wal-mart. I discovered this powder when Patrick Starr had mentioned it on his channel a couple of years ago. Once he mentioned it, I stopped using the Laura Mercier translucent powder and I haven't went back.

2. MAC Studio Fix Powder

This is an oldie, but definitely a goodie. The MAC studio fix powder has been around for a long time. It was infamous at one point on YouTube, but a lot of people have veered away from it since other brands have dropped so many new products. However, I always find myself going back to this powder. This is the best setting powder to set your entire face. It is also the best powder to touch up with. I would definitely say it is a full coverage powder, so a light application will do!

Highlighters

1. Makeup Revolution "Golden Lights" Highlighter

Makeup Revolution has also stepped up their game this year. I have started to see them more and more this year across YouTube and social media. One product I will say I discovered this year and fell in love with is their "Golden Lights" highlighter. It is appears white from the packaging, but it has a golden iridescence to it and it's so pretyyy!!!! This product is sold for under $10 at ULTA.

2. Colourpop Highlighter Trio

I love this highlighter trio for my makeup fit. It has shades to match every client. It is so creamy, so pigmented, and so pretty! This colourpop highlighter trio is only $9.

Blush

Tarte "Feisty" Blush

I'm such a sucker for mauve blushes. I can't stop buying them! Tarte's "feisty" blush is the most perfect mauve blush that I have come across. It is very pigmented, and it is a matte blush. I do wish this blush wasn't a matte blush, but the shade is so pretty I'll deal with the matte. haha

Lips

RK by Kiss Liquid Lipsticks

I recently discovered this lip line this year, and I will not stop using them!! When I first saw them, I thought they were off-brand kylie lipkits. But when I got closer, I realized they were by Kiss brand. They are sold at drugstores and they are usually under $4!!!! These liquid lipsticks stay on all day, and they are so hard to take off, but it's totally worth it! My favorite shades are "Dune", "Trust Me", and "Bite Me".

Now that we are done with makeup, let's move on to skincare products. I only have two skincare products that I want to mention.

Skincare

1. Eminence Organics Clear Skin Starter Kit

My aesthetician recently introduced this product line to me when I started getting facials. I do have problematic skin, and I have a lot of texture on my cheek area. I really needed something to clear this up. This kit comes with a cleanser, vitamin c serum, moisturizer, and a charcoal mask. When I tell you these products work, they really WORK!! Just try it for yourself, and you will find out! I did purchase this kit for $60 from my local spa, but you can get this kit online.

2. Banish Oil

Before I was introduced to the kit above, I was using the Banish oil from Banish Skincare. This oil is considered to be their vitamin C serum. This oil really helped with my breakouts and clearing up the scarring. This oil is sold online for $49.

Now let's move on to my favorite places to shop.

Places to Shop

1. MissGuided

2. Poshmark

3. Nordstrom Rack

4. Forever21

5. H&M

6. Pretty Little Thing

This concludes my Top 2018 beauty favorites! I hope you found interest in a few of these products or places. Let me know in the comments below if you did find interest or if you have tried any of these products. Happy New Year everyone! Blessings to everyone in 2019!
