Birthday Trip to Houston
It's Taurus Season! My birthday was May 2nd, and I had the pleasure of taking a trip to Houston, TX the week of my birthday. I had the best time EVER! It was a well-needed break & mind reset. I chose Houston because it still has that good ole southern hospitality and the black culture doesn't disappoint.
Keep reading down below to check out my outfits and some of the places I recommend that you visit next time you're in Houston.
Places to Visit
First up, let's talk food. Of course, we ate breakfast, lunch & dinner each day. However, I'm only going to share with you my favorite restaurants.
Places to Eat:
Harry's Breakfast + Lunch
The food was really good at Harry's Breakfast + Lunch spot. Their breakfast menu is foreign and a bit different from your usual American breakfast, but they definitely had foods & dishes that were familiar. I listed this place because they have the best biscuits I have ever had in my life. Cripsy outside + a fluffy inside, no better combo.
Places to Eat:
Lucille's Brunch
Brunch has really been trending lately, and I think it's because we OUTSIDE this summer lol. Most restaurants in Houston have a patio deck. It's really nice, especially when there's beautiful weather outside. Lucille's brunch spot was amazing! They have bottomless mimosas, and I give the food a 10/10. I definitely recommend the chicken & waffles and oxtail omelet. They both will have you singing as soon as the food hits your mouth lol.
Places to Eat:
Steak 48
Steak 48 is an upscale steakhouse. I know it's a steakhouse, but I always get lamb chops at any steakhouse or upscale restaurant if they have them. These lamb chops were good. I did feel like they could've been seasoned a bit more. I got mac n'cheese on the side, and it was really good. When I made reservations here, I told them it was my birthday. At the end of dinner, they surprised me with a free dessert of my choosing. I decided to go with the caramel cake. The caramel cake is why Steak 48 made it to this list. The cake was very moist, and the ice cream and pecans made it even more amazing!
