Black History Month & Women's History Month
A little late with this blog post, but better late than never. Throwing it back to February and March for Black History Month & Women's History Month. Last year, I recreated my favorite fashion moments from a few black women icons that I felt were making moves to make a difference in the entertainment industry. Click here to view last year's recreations.
Keep reading down below to check out which icon fashion moments I decided to recreate this year.
Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama - the woman of the decade who shows strength in its strongest form and empathy in its gentlest form. We all know Michelle as the 1st African American First Lady, but I definitely think she'd make a great president. That's just wishful thinking though. :) Michelle has always been known for the intelligence and compassion that she brings to the table. Her and Barack were the epitome of the love we all want in this life. She graduated magna cum lade with a sociology degree from Princeton. And not only has she graduated from one of the best universities in the country, but she has also won a grammy award in 2020 for best spoken word album.
I thought Michelle would be perfect for this year's recreations.
Rihanna
Last year, I recreated my favorite look by Beyonce, so I thought it was only right to recreate my favorite fashion moment by none other than Rihanna. Once I decided to recreate a look by Rihanna, you can only imagine how many looks went though my mind that I could possibly recreate. I came across this photo of her on Pinterest. This was for her "Fuck Bitches, Get Money" shoot that was shot for the cover of Vogue. I thought this was perfect for me because I'm all about hustling, and I'm not really worried about the opinions of others Also, I knew that I could play even more into my creativity by creating this interesting veil. I made the veil with a black headband, black mesh fabric, and felt circle stickers. It turned out really good, and I was thrilled.
Rihanna is now the richest female entertainer in the world with a net worth of $1.7B. That's crazy right. Rihanna is definitely in her bag making money moves. Not only is she in her bag, but she's always unapologetically herself while also taking & speaking up for others. Rihanna is a boss b*tch. But what's new, right?!
I did not have that many looks this year as I did for last year's blog post, but I definitely enjoyed each look that I recreated. Again, if you'd like to check out last year's looks including Beyonce, Cecily Tyson, Zendaya, and Harriet Tubman, then click here.
Thank you for visiting CRMstyles. I hope you enjoyed this blog post as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. Leave a comment below to recommend any artists you'd like to see for next year's set of recreations.
Until next time!
